Bob Demartini was not just a smart man, but a patient one. From the time he began Gutter Helmet in the early 1960s, until the company was officially launched in 1981, there were about two decades of development.
Bob was educated at M.I.T. and unleashed his skills on a problem that had concerned him for some time – clogged gutters. And so he began developing ideas for a meshless cover system that would eliminate one of the dirtiest – and most dangerous – home maintenance jobs.
He pursued his original “nose forward” design, tested and refined it, patented it, and named his innovation Gutter Helmet, which quickly claimed the distinction of being the best gutter protection system in the world.
Fast forward nearly a quarter of a century to 2005, when Gutter Helmet was acquired by SEMCO – Southeastern Metals Mfg. Co. Headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, SEMCO is a division of Gibraltar Industries, a multi-billion dollar global leader in the building industry.
Proudly made in the USA, Gutter Helmet protects the homes of over a million families. We would be proud to add yours to the list!
